42Story - Great in its time

Discussion created by bbboring on Apr 7, 2013

The Jackie Robinson story is wonderful and a real inspiration.  However, baseball's time has come and gone.  It simply cannot compete with the other sports/entertainment options out there.  The majority of season tickets are sold to corporations for use in entertaining clients and that is why seats are empty at the many baseball parks across the country.  Due to the sheer number of games played in a season, the casual fan has no real emotional swing if the home team wins or loses on any particular night.  Simply put, it just doesn't matter as much on a per game basis as the national sport of football.
