Orioles go from worst to (almost) first.

In 2012, after their fourth straight last-place season, and fourteen straight losing seasons, the Baltimore Orioles went from 69-93 in 2011 to 93-69.  They then beat the Rangers in the AL Wild Card Game before taking on the Yankees in the Division Series. The Orioles went 16-2 in extra-inning games, and set some sort of record by going 29-9 in contests decided by just one run.  For a team with what was previously such a horrible record, this is an amazing accomplishment.
