We spent 1 night at this Category 3 hotel while we were on our way to Arkansas for Thanksgiving. The hotel is located just off I-20, near downtown Shreveport. We had enjoyed a previous stay so we decided to cut our drive in half and spend the night. Since we stayed on a Friday night, the prices were higher because it is near the casinos in this area. We stayed on points and were upgraded (without asking) to a river view room. The reflections on the water were striking that night as was the sunlight on the river and buildings the next morning. The hotel is located within the Louisiana Boardwalk, a shopping/dining/entertainment area. The hotel gave us a VIP coupon book so our first stop was the Chocolate Crocodile, a candy store, where we like to buy their monster size caramel apples. We always buy a couple because they are a hit with our relatives.
This is the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup apple. (Thought about you, Gem Princess.) It is shown about actual size! Our favorite is the caramel apple covered in chocolate and pecans, but it was gone before I could take a picture of it!
We headed to Fuddrucker's where we can satisfy my choice of a turkey burger and my husband can get his burger fix. Some Fuddrucker's also carry some exotic burger choices. Following dinner, we walked around the shopping area and enjoyed a beautiful Louisiana night.
We've never stayed anyplace else in the Shreveport area because we enjoy this hotel and the surrounding area so much. If you are passing through on I-20 or I-49, it is an easy location to find.
