Yes! Of course it should always be eaten Cookie Monster style...
Microwave Popcorn - really? Like drive-thru mailboxes - only in America!
Is that a sarcasm? I hadn't realized it wasn't a global phenomenon, but then again popcorn is fairly North American to begin with I guess. Lately, if I know I'm going to be staying somewhere with a microwave available, I've been known to bring my own extra popcorn.
Here in the UK you can get popcorn in a cinema, and toffee popcorn from the shops. You can also buy popcorn makers for around £20, but I’ve not seen microwave popcorn here before. I can’t imagine what they do to it to make it microwaveable - icky!
The fun part is opening the bag unpopped to have a look.
Next time I’m at a Residence Inn, I’m going to do that!
It does stink up the room, but I usually take it with me and eat it at home eventually. Waste not, want not!
Ugggg... am I really this dense...? I like microwave popcorn but must never be in the mood for it in the hotel cause I've never used it, I eat it at home all the time... now I always take my un-used Keurig pods when I check out for home use, but I have never thought to take the popcorn...??? Sad for myself right now.
Guess I'll be packing out popcorn envelopes from now on!
I guess it depends.....if I a traveling with the family and we are watching television or playing a game, then popcorn it is!
The ritual is:
Do you ever notice how RI popcorn has more unpopped kernels than other popcorn bags you buy at the market?
brightlybob you can actually just pop popcorn in a microwave in a microwaveable bowl with nothing added. You are right though, microwave popcorn bags does contain many ingredients you can't pronounce....yikes! Love you insights!!
You can really just pop normal kernels into the microwave? You’re kidding, right? So if popcorn is microwaveable, then why do bags of specifically microwaveable popcorn? I tell you, I learn so much from this forum, not sure how useful it is, mind
Some RI in NYC have discontinued the microwave popcorn due to the smell that lingers
