Mainly curious as to how everyone feels about what drives them to determine their favorite brands...
First two votes are in and they are both for Renaissance. I like this brand best as it's full service and unpretentious. I also love the JW for their spas and for economy you can't beat Springhill Suites (full points plus free breakfast).
The "ren" for me has a 50% hit rate. Half of them were good, the other half made it all the way to the blacklist. One of them, my mother was along in a separate room and we had to check out after one night she disliked it so much (only hotel that has happened in). I will carefully evaluate before I consider a "Ren"
There is just something about The JW. That is all....
Great memories at JW properties and the price to value we receive there is a great fit for us
Town Place Suites in Vernal Utah was 5,000 points, corner suite upgrade with beautiful warm decor, lighting and materials, excellent seasoned egg whites for lean protein and nice lobby areas for sitting, reading or working. WARM pool, not the usual "heated but cold"! Memorable quality and value.
A couple of old threads may interest folks who are following this thread/poll:
There are some Great JW's worlwide Hong Kong, Dubai, London but most of the US ones have been a disappointment, SF, LA and to be honest dont think Marco Island should be a JW until its finished
New Orleans JW definitely a disappointment. Hard fail on the valet parking. Who leaves a rental car running behind a hotel in New Orleans with the motor running, keys in and no one watching? Answer: The JW in New Orleans. One guy on duty I guess and he went for another car.....disturbing to say the least. No service inside the hotel either...and other issues.
My favorite Marriott hotel is The Raphael (Autograph Collection) in Kansas City. A boutique hotel with great service.
