How many points do you expect to earn with the Summer MegaBonus?
Currently have 20K points on the books with my stays. Could add 1 or 2 more. Overall, pretty happy with this bonus!
Best as I can estimate right now, I'll get about 8000 from Marriott, plus roughly 13000 from SPG (equaling 39000 MR) for a total of approx 47000 just in bonuses.
@Goldenboy, How are you getting bonus points from SPG? Do the brands or nights at SPG count?
SPG is offering a double/triple points promo over the same dates as the Marriott promo, but you must register for it separately!
54540 from the ritz carlton bonus from 2 stays, 26000 bonus anticipated from marriott bonus - in total of 80540 points.
Were you able to sign up for both Ritz and Marriott? My account was ineligible for Ritz:(
I set up my account as a ritz carlton account when I created mine (sep 2015) - hence I am eligible for both marriott and ritz promotions.
Last year when they had the 100k bonus for staying 10 paid nights some people had success switching over to ritz account and registering for the promo.

strictly from Marriott, about 12 K, weaker than last year but much better than the year before where we got nothing. However great for road warriors who have been held short lately.
So far, I have 6 paid stays at 6 different brands. That's 20k (10 for the stays and 10 for the brands). I can easily see adding a couple more stays and maybe one or two more brands. That could push me over 30k, but it would take a bit of careful planning.
Even so, I'm pretty happy with this promotion. The double points on 3 stays only netted me ~7500 points. I'll do much better this time.
I'm already at 20,000 (but, apparently, a few months be bejacob, and some of the others) ... yet I'm quite happy with the promotion.
I'm sitting at 4,000, with 4,000 more coming from brands when the promotion ends. I've added several more stays and now expect to end the bonus with 40,000 points. Previously I thought I'd be lucky to top 30,000 points. I'm even more happy with this promotion than I was when it was first announced.
So far with 5 Marriott stays, it looks like I'll end up with 8000 bonus points (with 8000 more coming) from the Marriott summer promo, PLUS with 2 Starwood stays I'll get 6010 bonus Starpoints from the summer SPG promo (which converts to 18030 Marriott points).
GRAND TOTAL (16000 + 18030) equaling 34030 Marriott Rewards points!!!
Summer road trip in planning stages, but I hope to get between 30-40k.
In addition to the points normally earned from stays, I expect to earn at least 20,000 bonus points, using single nights and staying at as many different brands as I can. Good incentive to try some new ones, which I will do in June at the Dove Mountain RC. Definitely expect to exceed the 13,836 bonus points earned in the Spring Mega Bonus.
I just changed one of my reservations to change brands to maximize the promotion...
Seems like a waste. My time and theirs. But they made the rules...
68,000 points thanks to 3 long term stays.
We will get 16,000 bonus points. We could of had an additional 4,000 but stayed at 2 Autograph properties and 2 Deltas. Also one of our stays is a birthday certificate. I would of saved it but need the elite night so one of our days on the road will be shorter just to get another night.
I am at 62000 so far. Will have to see how August plays out on a couple of ongoing project to see if that get a further bump. Would like to understand more how to get the Ritz-Carlton point bonus (got the 2K for a stay and 2K for brand bonus but not the RC program bonus as it would not let me sign up for it. I had a week stay on vacation in July at a RC. I am happy with the promotion so far. Much better than I normally do. Getting the RC points would make it great.
To get the RC points you need to be RC member and not MR member. Try switching your accounts to RC and explaining them you need to register for the bonus.
Last year some people had success in doing that - although it does not seem to working for everyone.
This has been a great bonus and has made me increase my travel during this time. Should be a win-win for both Marriott and me. That's great business right there.
Looks like I'm going to finish with 46,000.
Currently at 497,000 Total MR Points for summer promo period. Here is how I did it.
1. Visited every MR brand (except 2) with 45 stays in the promo period so far (5 are duplicates). Net 114K MR Points.
2. Used MR Rate on 12 stays with additional promos ranging from 2K-5K per stay. Net 40K MR Points.
3. Concurrently have 10 separate SPG weekly stays with (2X) Promo and 4 SPG Stays on weekends at (3X) promo during same timeframe. Converted this back to MR Account at 3X conversion rate. Net 89K MR Points.
4. Took the Green option at 10 stays (MR +SPG). Net 7K MR Points.
5. PLT Arrival Points on all stays. Net 28K MR Points.
6. Normal points accumulated (Base + PLT Elite) from all stays (excluding promos and arrival bonuses). Net 147K MR points.
7. Last but not least, points from MR Credit Card on all stays in the Promo period. Net 72K MR Points.
Still a few more weeks to go!
Full Disclosure: This post is 100% intended to share the methods than can be used during any stay to maximize points earnings with the benefits that MR & SPG programs offer today during a promo period. These points have been accumulated with a mix of 90% Business Travel and 10% Leisure time.
I know I cannot change my vote (between 30-40K) but I suspect I willl be over 50K now. Did a short trip to Texas and property hopped (and brand). Also have two more trips that were not planned before (I will brand hop then as well)
I expect to finish with 18 stays (36K points for about 70 nights) and 7 different brands for another 14K
Just did 4 days in a row...2 in one city, 2 in another. Plus 2 more right before the deadline...
Looks like 42,000 (28,000 from 15 stays and 14,000 from 8 brands). A little more than I anticipated at the beginning. I worked in my first AC stay for an extra brand and am currently staying at the Renaissance in Tulsa where I probably would have been at the Marriott Southern Hills if not for getting another brand. An ok promotion, not great but not bad. 42,000 in my journey to lifetime platinum that I wouldn't have had otherwise. So I'm happy and looking forward to what comes next to see how I can maximize it.
