brightlybob and bejacob have decided to hold an Insider gathering. Where should we meet?
Comments welcome here or at Insiders meetup Sept 2016. Wanna join us?
Houston is best for me because we can get together with iahflyr!
I hear he is "Buying"!
I chose IAH but have no preference.
I thought about offering a "no preference" option, but decided it was better to force people to pick one or the other. brightlybob may still get the final say as he is traveling the farthest. I'm sure the humidity weather will be just as miserable nice in either city in September .
All kidding aside I enjoy getting up in the morning and only putting on short and sandals - if I only have to wear long pants at dinner I'll survive.
For me the reason for the get together is to meet everyone attending - any pleasurable experience in food or other activities is secondary to the group being together.
Ah misterchk rule #23, there will be nothing other than flip flops, shorts and t-shirts allowed at anything Houston.
iahflyr What you are describing is my Summer formal business attire.
What I described is my attire year round and my business is all pleasure. Although today I do have on a long sleeved t-shirt as it is only 45 here today and in the shade a bit nippy for short sleeves while grilling.
Come on - If Richard Nixon wore wingtips on the beach, we should be able to wear running shoes!
I'm not even bringing socks! It's a short and sandals type of trip!
AS I sit here at Heathrow (at the Ren, naturally) in the pouring rain, I just love the idea of Atlanta or Houston. I looooove the heat!
Humidity is great for the skin or so I'm told.
Buying, oh for sure and I know of some really down and dirty spots to buy!
And Houston takes the lead in the poll.
YYes, Atlanta set an early pace, but I think everyone is voting to see misterchk in his socks and sandals
Gosh am I glad you mentioned "socks and sandals" rather than some other item of what he might be wearing!!!
I said I was leaving my socks and long pants home!
The speed of this thread has been so rapid this morn that we all have been guilty of "typos" and or/misquotes>
So there's no misunderstanding I do not wear socks with my sandals. In fact I only wear socks between May and October to Weddings, Funerals, Bar Mitzvahs , and other events that the absence of socks would insult the hosts - if anyone other than the hosts are insulted - who cares!!
I would like to take this opportunity to advise brightlybob that I was educated (BA and MA) in the American language and you must refrain from using words I don't understand.
But I'd still love to see those socks and sandals combo.
