Trying to determine my next vacation...
All beautiful places, with Vancouver the standout. When you go is an important factor, of course. The beauty and variety in Vancouver stands out though - Stanley Park, the ocean, the mountains, Chinatown - one of the most scenic west coast cities to visit.
Visit the California wine areas constantly throughout the year.
My good news/bad news situation:
BAD NEWS - I used to have a wine collection of 700 bottles.
GOOD NEWS - I have a wine collection of 400 bottles.
A welcome to a new voice mlnold21
Behave yourself young lady, refrain from agreeing with anything I post and do not attempt to outdo my sarcasm and obnoxiousness.
Update re wine collection total: Now 395 bottles!
Must sit down and compare notes
Agreed. I count best after a few glasses of Sancerre...hoping you will bring the wine!
I prefer salt lake city..........
Vancouver is clean and beautiful, if you are up there try to get to Victoria too.
These three locations are so different how can anyone compare them?
My husband and I love the Napa area, though to be honest we actually prefer the area north of Sonoma. We search out the local farm markets, wander where the spirit takes us, enjoy beautiful architecture, scenery, gardens and wine. Our daughter just moved to CA so we now have a great excuse to leave IL for better weather traveling in the late fall and early spring. We just got back a week ago, left perfect spring weather only to find that winter had returned to IL. Next time we will stay longer than 1 week. In fact we have 2 weeks planned for our anniversary ( and visiting the daughter) in late October.
We've pretty much stayed from Napa and Sonoma over the last few years - too crowded for us. When in CA, we tend to visit the wonderful vineyards in Paso Robles and the Central Valley.
Visit Napa at least once a year. Go during the week, no weekends. Also, usually visit vineyards off of Silverado Trail and the cross roads to Hwy 59. Much less traffic, people in this wine area. Plus better wines!
Guess I like California wines - so Napa!
I have to concur with the infamous @misterchk here.... These are three wonderful options! I would visit all three again! If I have one trip to make though, I'm going back to Napa.
I haven't been to Vancouver, but would LOVE to go! Salt Lake City and surrounding areas are so incredibly gorgeous. I think there's a lot more interesting stuff to do there than Napa.
