Is anyone else not receiving their Milestone Badges?
I didn't vote because I'd always assumed that the milestone badges were for authored content. But a quick search a few minutes ago yielded this 2012 quote from the then-community manager's blog post: "To accumulate milestone badges, simply post discussions, questions, polls, replies and otherwise enriching the content available in the community."
If replies count, then No, I hahvn't received no steenkin' bahdges!
(For erc, wherever he may be)
Just like our friend erc.
Thanks for the gif, foxglove, and the humor.
I haven't really been checking my badge progress, but see that I now have more than a few months ago.
I now. See other people are having the same problems with the badges I'm sure it
Will get fixed
Hi everyone - We're looking into this. We want to make sure everyone is earning their badges for the great conversations here on Insiders.
There are two types of badges, Milestone and Participation.
The Milestone Badges referencing 50 or 150 posts have not been functional for over a year. Do you think these badges should come back?
The Participation Badges are distinctions earned by completing specific missions within the community, like; uploading an avatar, writing a Marriott hotel review, answering questions and interacting with others.
brooklynlobster, I assume you are referring to the participation badges. Let me know if you are having trouble with these and we'll look into that further.
30marine and foxglove - Let us know if you'd like to see the Milestone Badges come back!!
Goo stuff here, everybody.
We'd be curious to know what folks think about the badges, and the milestone badges in particular, as they are the ones that have been inactive for some time.
carat joshm: The milestone badges, if they were/are indeed indicators of authored posts, let the viewer know that that particular MRInsider has been around a while and/or has initiated a large number of discussions, blog posts, reviews, etc. After nearly three years on MRI, I'm still way less than halfway to 50 authored posts, so whenever I see the 150-post badge, it's sort of like, "Whoa!" To me, it carries more significance than simply the participation score. And, of course, those milestone earners are usually top contributors who help drive these boards in tone and content.
What is the 411? I thought it was updating my profile, but that must not be it because I still haven't gotten that one.
That one confused me I still haven't received that one I tried 4 times
The 411 is a status update. Whenever you update where you are, what you're doing, etc. you complete the 411. You get a participation point each time you provide a status update.
Thank you, foxglove
I thought that was probably what it meant, but I've updated a couple of times in the last few months, but still no 411 badge.
P.S.: I've also had an avatar for quite a while, but still no acknowledgement of that.
Hmmm. When you click on "Activity" at the top of home page near your user name, you should see a comment box open up that says, "What's going on?" If you provide a status update in that box, you should score that partipation badge.
Well, thank you, again, foxglove.
I'd seen that I could claim badges or do something to get them, but could never figure out what to do.
You're quite welcome.
Still couldn't figure it out, though. I didn't think I was computer illiterate.
I've not paid attention...maybe I should've...hmmm.
What's the advantage of having the badges?
Retrieving data ...
