Point to Night Ratio - Big Spender? Point Optimizer? Charge Card User? Timeshare Owner? etc.

Poll created by ssindc on May 24, 2015

What's your life-time point-to-night ratio?

Now that Marriott has made lifetime status data readily available, it might be interesting to see what the range of point-to-night ratios are.

My assumptions - which may we way off base - include:

  • the highest point-to ratio Insiders will include (1) heavy Chase charge card users; and (2) MVI time share owners; and
  • the lowest point-to-ratio users will include (1) road warriors (mostly business travelers); (2) domestic (mostly car/auto) traveler/tourists that frequent Marriott's terrific collection of lower category hotels in places far from the high-category tourist destinations like Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington DC; and (3) Residence Inn aficionados - since Rez Inn only give 5 points per night.

If you have a particularly high or low ratio, take a moment to explain in the comments section below.  Also, if everyone ends up grouping in the same bands, I'll revise the poll to create smaller categories.

p.s. you can find your lifetime stats by

  • going to Account Overview
  • under your annual Nights Detail "progress bar"
  • click Lifetime Status
