We recently stayed at a non-Marriott hotel as part of the support staff for a bicycle event. After a long day, we went to sleep at 9 pm only to be rudely awakened at midnight with the room alarm clock blaring. Of course, I had to turn on the light to figure out how to turn it off. My husband went right back to sleep, but I was still awake at 3 am. knowing that the 5 am alarm on his phone would go off before I knew it. I mentioned the incident to the desk clerk as we were leaving and asked if that wasn't something the housekeepers were supposed to check. She said that their housekeepers didn't have time to do something like that. I don't remember ever having that happen in a Marriott property, so I wonder if the housekeepers check the clocks to determine if the alarm is on.
I usually have to cover the clock because it is too bright, but I guess I will check to see if the alarm is set, too.
Do you check the clock in your room to see if the alarm is on (not set by you) before going to bed?
