Thoughts on the upcoming game tonight with predictions. Bring it with facts, random thoughts or just your heart.
I expect to hear from The specified item was not found., merb, katiec, lindseyh communitymanagers and bejacob for sure.
Ducks 48 Buckeyes 42.
The Oregon defense did not consistently stop Florida State and had it not been for the plethora of turn overs FSU put on the carpet this might be a different game tonight with Oregon at home looking at it on TV. Now, having said that I believe the Oregon defense will have to stand up to much more time on the field than they'd like due to the fact the Ducks offense will score so quick the defense will not get much rest. Oregon must take more time on offense from time to time to give the defense a blow or OSU will eat chew them up and take the game.
Oregon is up to the challenge.
iahflyr I have enjoyed your candor, insight, and wisdom over the last several months. But now I am disillusioned. How can someone with your superb intellect choose little ducks over THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYS????? You must be sick with the flu and have clouded mind ... there is NO other explanation!
Why thanks frogs, but there is absolutely no "intellect" here and to be quite honest it's all due to my lovely wife who grew up in Portland and our love for the Oregon Coast, well there is then the reason that Oregon is just a better team and they have Marcus.
Looks like I might have to call in a few ringers such as pluto77 and californian to help sway the poll in the correct direction.
Priceless!!! Well done except for the fact he thinks the Duck is dead when actually the Duck is about to take Brutus up in the air to hang him like a hanging basket to see how much he enjoys heights.
I didn't think our Heisman fella played exceptionally well against FSU, his passing wasn't as as sharp as normal as he over threw or under threw many open receivers. He rarely has average or better than average games back to back so I should expect him to show all his talents tonight.
I have to pick Ohio State because I live in Columbus and bad things will happen to me if I don't. I think it will be a good game if Ohio State can keep it close for the first half. If Jones plays well and OSU wins, I hope he turns pro and the Bengals draft him.
I, too, have to go with the hometown Buckeyes. Other than the local connection, I don't have a reason to care one way or the other. I have to go to work tomorrow no matter who wins. I'll probably be in bed before the 4th quarter begins, but I'm sure I'll hear the score in the morning.
Around here, I'm so used to seeing "Go Bucks" that when The specified item was not found. posted "Go Ducks" I had to read it twice.
LOL, and I just saw my first "Go Ducks" sign on a car here in The Woodlands, Texas.....and no I did NOT almost think it was Bucks.
A preview to get ya closer to being ready in just over four hours!!!!
Go Ducks, said the girl from the left coast. Just a heart thing, having been a Ducks fan for - longer than I care to admit. Bummed I won't be able to watch the game. (I will be "Je parle <-ing> français.")
And the winner is.....ucks! They are both great teams with talented quarterbacks. OSU just pulled it all together at the right time.
Congrats to the Bucks Nation and OSU, they certainly took care of business. I don't think I've ever seen a QB such as Mariota that passed for 333 and 2 TD's looks so confused by the defense. Marcus didn't even take off running like normal. And the 3rd string QB sure looked like an incredible machine against the Oregon defense.
Ohio State came to play that's for sure. They out hustled, out hit, out coached and out played Oregon just about the entire game.
iahflyr, I noticed that you picked the correct score for the OSU half of the equation. Half right is better than nothing.
I didn't watch the game and was in bed sometime near halftime (earlier than I predicted). The only bad thing about being in Columbus when the Buckeyes win such a big game is that all the fanatics who somehow think they had something to do with the victory are even more insufferable than usual.
The team did something most experts didn't think possible (beat Alabama and Oregon). Congrats to the team and the coach (who did have something to do with the victory ).
I also was in bed by 10, but had a neighber who was nice enough to 'keep me informed' every time OSU scored. Having grown up in Cincinnati, I always liked Ohio State but cared more about the Reds, Bengals (at times), and Xavier basketball. I was very surprised by the number of serious fanshere that live or die by OSU sports. I like and respect Urban Meyer and am very impressed with the team, especially the last three games.
I really wish the network scheduling idiots would stop scheduling major events on week nights that don't end until after midnight. This limits viewership school aged children and adults who work for a living.
