After getting loaded daily with emails from our Destinations reviews, I have noticed LOTS of complaining regarding MOST of the hotel properties.
The question is are these properties really THAT bad or have we become a bit jaded of our expectations?
I call 'em as I see 'em. I have posted reviews and posts both good and bad about a stay. It usually takes a 'moment' or an 'event' to trigger a full post...good or bad. I have had great stays and terrible stays and mostly uneventful stays. The uneventful usually don't get a mention. But when something triggers the really good or really bad...Insiders deserve to know both sides of that coin!
I'd have voted "other," if I voted.
Nothing personal, debbiebrown, but folks who specialize in survey design could have a field day with the implicit biases in your choices.
but, hey, it's your poll, and you can design it any way you want.... Fortunately, you were fully transparent in your introduction by making clear that you created the poll because you were surprised by the volume of complaining on the site. So, hat's off to you...
just as an example, my most recent poll was here: Robes and Slippers? - you'll note that the last option I created was:
"Other (option 2): I object to these types of polls, generated by hotel snobs who inefficiently overspend at full-service and luxury properties. If you people had any common sense, you'd spend your money on SpringHill Suites and other reasonably priced properties. Then you could spend all the money you save on your own robe (and stop complaining about the robe in the hotel closet that most folks don't care about anyway)."
