1. Love it..keep it.
2. Like it as much as the last...either or.
3. Hate it...replace it with what we had.
Although I'm not really a hating kind of person, I'd just prefer that good enough be left alone. Maybe it's my lack of understanding of these things that causes me to wonder if there really is a point to these web site changes. The newest version now requires me to sign into Marriott, then go to the very bottom of that page and click on members, then when that page opens go to the top and click on sign in, and then, finally, I am into Insiders. Pain in the neck that makes no sense to me.
nu - I absolutely hear you and I'm working to add more prominent links to Insiders back into those placements
rand - thought I might offer a suggestion to include a screenshot at the top of the poll to show what you're referring to since there are many moving pieces.
I really don't find the refurbished site much different than the old... and I found the old quite frustrating. The only thing I find even more frustrating, now, is that I am bombarded with pages and pages of hotel reviews, and no real conversational content in sight. As well, during this session, for instance, I have been randomly logged out, have been unable to load pages, and spent the best of an hour trying to find the page with the square box views of current topics. I guess I am a hater.
Oh wait. I'm sorry. I have responded regarding the Insiders site, not the official reservations site. Whoops.
I was, briefly, on the reservations page and got a bit frustrated with the new format, but it's too soon to tell if it's just a learning curve or if it really isn't as user-friendly as the last iteration.
The update did not fix many of the things that I didn't like such as, click on the hotel to find more info and get a page that never has what I want so I need to click again to get to the hotel website. Eliminate that page please.
I still can't find many of the links that I used all the time like on parking and airport directions including shuttle info. I saw no reason for a redesign where it takes too much of our time to learn how to do what we had been doing all along.
We complained about only seeing a limited number of our reservations and after much complaining, they allowed us to view all. They took that away. Does this make sense to anyone? It appears that they don't listen to us.
This list goes on.....
Getting used to it and appreciate the efforts that went into improving "user friendliness."
Is it just me, or does anyone else experience difficulty in trying to get to the Insiders page? I do a search using "Marriott Insiders" and I click on the link for the Insiders community. When I log in I get taken to the Marriott reservations homepage, and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get to the Insiders site. So then I log out of the Marriott site and start all over. Is there a link to Insiders from our main accounts? Help!
If you are logged into the Marriott site, go to the bottom of the page and click members on the right hand side. That will take you to the Insders site. Click login at the top of the page and you should be in business.
Sorry for the frustration - we've requested a link within the main navigation which should make things easier and I'll share details once finalized. Also, you can always go to the community first, bookmark it, and sign in with your Rewards account.
Either URL works the same:
Thanks bpelican! That was very helpful. Especially since it happened again.
communitymanagers, the issue is that I do go to the community first, but then the login takes me straight to the Marriott reservations page instead of Insiders.
got it, thanks!!
I like the marriott.com website so much better than the older one. The imrpovement to the ipad app was needed, that still has a way to go but at least it's more mobile friendly
I am a plat premier. Site used to show this and I could click on it to get the phone number of Marriott to make a reservation. I can't find the Marriott number for the life of me. It's nowhere on the front page and when I try to navigate, it just doesn't come up. Don't you think that Marriott should have their number easily displayed?
Having a map search function at the global level would be great. I prefer the interactive search as opposed to the search field approach.
This is the worst website ever. Firstly, it changes every couple of months so just when you're getting used to it the site changes. Also, I am a Plat Premier and the old site (3 months ago) my status was in blue and I would press on my status and all the phone numbers for reservations (Plat) and MR would appear. Therefore, I wouldn't have to go searching for my card. It would make life easier if all the relevant information would appear directly on the website. I'm not talking about under "menu" which is just general phone numbers and not specific to my status.
Website is deceptive, it calls an advance purchase rate a standard rate, what's the deal? Anyone else in a hurry (all of us) click the same $$ amount listed as standard only to find out it was advance purchase. SURPRISE, you lose $150.00 because Marriott don't call a spade a spade.
It keeps getting worse. Do they think we enjoy the challenge of figuring it out every couple of months. I hate clicking on the mouse. Now, you have to keep clicking to enter the date if your stay is in the distant future. Are they too lazy to capture what we enter and adjust it to the format that they want?
