Hotel Review: Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel

Blog Post created by vaboywnder on Feb 8, 2018

Last weekend eclektech and I attended a special event near the Atlanta airport.  We decided to stay at the nearby Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport hotel for two nights which was ½ mile from the event. This gave me the opportunity to cash in one of my category 5 certificates earned from a previous MegaBonus and also earn some extra points from the new MegaBonus for the one paid night.

Normally when I need to stay near the ATL airport I would choose one of the Marriott Gateway properties as it is very easy access to and from the airport via the SkyTrain.  This was our first stay at the Renaissance Concourse and it was indeed a nice airport hotel.  It’s a great spot for those AV Geeks who enjoy plane watching.

Since having a quiet room was more important to us than having a view of the runaway the front desk assigned us a nice corner room which overlooked the back side of the hotel.

Our room appeared to have been recently remodeled and everything was very clean and modern.  The bed was very comfortable.  The bathroom had limited counter space but was fine for our short stay.

After our first night I left a small tip for Housekeeping.  She was so appreciative that she left behind a thank you note and some extra bottles of water.

The Club Lounge at this property is closed on the weekends.  We were offered breakfast certificates in the restaurant and had access to the full buffet at no additional cost.  Overall I would definitely consider staying here again if I need to burn a Cat 5 Cert.  Otherwise I would likely choose one of the Gateway properties due to the convenience of using the SkyTrain at those properties to get to and from the airport.
