Hotel Review: Fairview Park Marriott - Falls Church, VA

One of my favorite weekend getaway destinations is the Northern VA/DC area.  There is always so much to see and do in this area.  eclektech & I spent last weekend at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church.  We have had many stays here in the past and have found it to be a solid hotel for us and my buddy erc will tell you that you can really get great weekend deals at this hotel.

I booked a $79 rate which also included 2500 bonus points for the stay.  The staff is always friendly and welcoming at this hotel.  It’s one of the few Marriott properties in the local area that does not charge for parking which is a major +. Since the lounge is closed on weekends Gold & Platinum members are able to get access to the restaurant's full breakfast buffet which is very extensive.

The hotel is located in a nice quiet office park setting.  It is very close to both I-66 & I-495.  Just a short drive away is the new hip Mosaic District and also Tyson’s Corner where there are many great stores and restaurants.

During our stay we did encounter one issue which was the first time at this property.  At Check In we were assigned Room 1547 and later discovered at random times we could hear loud scraping noises throughout the night.  We were unsure the source of the noise but notified the front desk the next day.  The front desk was very apologetic and gave us an upgrade to the Presidential Suite for the remainder of our stay in addition to 5,000 MR points.

The Presidential Suite was large and spacious but really appeared to be nothing more than a hospitality suite connected to a regular guest room.  Nonetheless we appreciated the upgrade and extra space.

While in the area we took a drive to National Harbor and spent a little bit of time at the new MGM Casino.  Here is a link to my Instagram account where I posted some photos of the new MGM Property.
