One of my favorite places to visit in the US is Southern CA.  I love the Los Angleles area especially Burbank and Hollywood.  A couple of weeks ago eclektech and I visited Burbank for a few days prior to heading to a couple of conventions in Las Vegas. We made the most of our limited time there.  On our first full day we decided to drive down to Culver City and take in the Sony Studios Tour.   Our tour started at the Sony Pictures Plaza where there are lots of film memorabilia on display from popular films like Spiderman, Men in Black, and Ghostbusters. Then later our tour guide took us around to different sound stages where we got to learn more about the history of Sony.   Also during the tour we had our picture taken in front of a green screen and was told to pose as if "we had won a million dollars on Wheel of Fortune".   Below is our green screen photo.

After our Sony Studio Tour we drove down to Long Beach, CA where we had plans to meet up with californian for dinner.  Prior to dinner we walked down to the beach area.  It was a nice warm sunny day and so nice to feel the ocean breeze again.

We had a great dinner with californian at Nick's on 2nd.  This is a very popular place in Long Beach and I suggest that you make reservations ahead of time.  We were able to get a nice table out on their patio.  The food and conversation was excellent.  I had a filet with a loaded baked potato that was cooked perfectly.  Their signature dessert is a butter cake which is served warm with a scoop of ice cream and is a must try if you visit Nicks.

While in Southern California we also made a trip to The Grove shopping center and Farmers Market located in the West Hollywood area.

Of course no visit to The Grove is complete without making a stop at the famous Sprinkles Cupcake store!

One of kharada46 favorite eats in LA.
