It really does pay to have an AAA membership if your a frequent traveler.  Despite having Emergency Roadside assistance through my insurance company I signed up for AAA just for the travel discounts.  I notices some really good discounts for both Marriott hotels and Hertz car rentals and it didn't take long to realize that the total amount saved from the AAA discounts in a year more than justify the Basic Membership fee of $66.

Here are some examples of good AAA Marriott rates for the upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend:

Gaylord National Hotel, National Harbor MD          AAA Rate $99     Regular Rate $179          Savings Per Night $80

JW Marriott, Houston, TX                                    AAA Rate $97     Regular Rate $139          Savings Per Night $42

Crystal City Marriott, Arlington, VA                      AAA Rate $69      Regular Rate $99          Savings Per Night $30

I really enjoy sharing travel experiences and hotel reviews with others.  Over the past few years I've written quite a few travel reviews on sites like TripAdvisor and Yelp.  One thing I've noticed about Marriott Insiders are the Hotel reviews are very limited.  I would love to see our community grow with information about the various properties.  If we can share our experiences both good and bad it not only helps other Insiders discover new destinations but it also helps Marriott find ways to improve.

This morning I wrote a new review here about the Courtyard Dunn Loring Fairfax in Northern Virginia.  I'm going to try to share some thing about each future hotel stay here. I would like to challenge all of my fellow Insiders to share their experiences after each hotel visit especially if the property has no reviews.  I recommend sharing your experiences under the Ratings & Reviews section if the property is listed there or creating a new post in the group Destinations.  This way other Insiders can easily find your reviews.

Happy Travels!
