Well i just feel sorry for the kids. This is a classic NYC hotel problem. Was once nice now is not. Rooms are dated. W brand purports to be luxury or at least high end and this hotel just isn't not a good flagship at all. Rooms are tiny and i have stayed there twice in the last two weeks.
Both rooms were less than ideal; Very Small rooms, VERY VERY small bathrooms, both Bathrooms were in need of a redo. One was dirty and needed new grout everyplace and the other the shower didnt drain properly. No coffee in the room, no lounge, Both rooms had no view.
One was on an interior courtyard where you can see other guest hallways outside your window. And the other looked out on another small space that had a huge construction site. Bathrooms in both rooms were subpar in terms of cleanliness or functionality. I have never stayed at a W before and i certainly wont now. The Marriott one block away was a better deal and i just thought trying a W would be fun. It was not.
Capper was that there was no coffee in the lobby. When i asked at the restaurant for coffee they said that they would "order room service for me".
Generally poor management at this property i would say.
