Just finished my first ever Delta Hotel stay. This one was at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Woodbridge, NJ. This hotel was previously a Renaissance, recently rebranded. It has an abundance of meeting rooms and conferencing facilities. The lobby is modern and attractive. I'm a little late to the party on visiting a Delta brand hotel, but previous reviews on Insiders had left me wanting... lacking in enthusiasm for the brand. The "Pantry?" Omg! But this hotel was pretty nice. We were warmly greeted and upgraded to the "Governor Suite." As I've mentioned in another post, getting an unexpected suite upgrade always tends to skew (positively) my opinion of a hotel property and maybe even a brand. Our suite was large and attractive. Living room in the front, well appointed bathroom down the hall to the left, and the bedroom at the end of the hall. There was plenty of everything here... Seating, tables, chairs, ottomans, outlets, lighting. Excellent. There is an indoor and an outdoor pool. There is also a fitness room that we utilized. It had plenty of equipment. I especially like the treadmills with the screens where you can jog through global scenery. This property had a club lounge, but the lounge was closed, while still being renovated. In lieu of that, they had a makeshift set up of evening offerings down in the bar area. We didn’t partake of adult bevs, so I’m not sure if they are complimentary... Okay, it’s the U.S.A. Of course they are not complimentary, who are we kidding?! Anyway, being working class folk, we were up and out before the breakfast service began, and too bad, as the front desk associate informed us that it’s really good and includes a made to order omelette/egg station.
In summary, my first experience at a Delta hotel was excellent, and this particular property was a great choice for my maiden foray into the brand, which now puts me at 26 brands to date. I’ve now hit all of the U.S. Bonvoy brands, minus the Gaylord.
Governor’s Suite Living Area
I loved the tub! Huge. Oval. Marble tile. Parfait!
Bedroom. Attractive. Comfortable. Yet the bed was a bit too firm for my liking.
Evening lounge offerings... Fresh fruits and veggies with a pepper Parmesan dip.
Lobster “thingies” (mini quiche bites) and curry potato & pea “pockets” with a yogurt kale & pesto dip. (Okay, curry and pesto don’t go together, so that was kind of weird.)
The Room Key! And the brand pen!
That’s all, Folks! Thanks for reading.
