Where are you, ks83 ? .................................
Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place, Morgantown, WV
And what's the lounge like? Nice lounge located on the second floor. I think this is a new hotel - recently rebranded one after bought by new owners.
How's the evening food? Really good food with a variety of options. On both the days we stayed there had the dinner here itself as we had late lunch. I am a big eater and was quite satisfied with the offerings.
Any free alcohol? No. But were reasonably priced even by WV standards. A beer and a glass of wine both cost $6 - it was a local beer called mothman which was quite nice and strong.
Whats the hours? Breakfast : During weekdays 6 30 to 9. During weekends 7 to 10. Evening hours - Food 5 30 to 7 30 PM.
And are they being meanies and closing the lounge at weekends? No its open all days of the week.
How about Plat breakfast? Good fruit selection.
Had packet oatmeal which you had to prepare yourself. Wife said it was ok.
Hot options included scrambled egg, potatoes, bacon on one day and sausage on another.
My wife liked the coffee.
Upgrades? T was upgraded to a water view room from a city view room. Arrived early for check in - room was not available, the agent said he would call but never did. Returned about 1.5 hours later at standard check in time - this time the agent offered apologies for not calling. Had to ask for arrival gift.
Additional: This was my first marriott lounge experience , have experienced only RC lounges till now. I know its no comparison as you usually pay a hefty premium for RC club level.
One thing to notice was the lack of attention of the attendants. Had to literally drag them away from their all important conversation to ask about what the evening food was.
SO... I'm sat in the Exectuve Lounge at the Morgantown Marriott Waterfornt place WV, and it's good (3/5).
