Avoid staying at the Fairfield El Segundo, CA. This property has a great lobby and mediocre rooms but knows nothing about customer service and has terrible, terrible parking.
The smoke alarm battery in my room started chirping at 2:00 am. When I complained, the front desk offered to refund my parking charge to which I replied "what parking charge??" She said, "don't you have a car?"
Parking for this hotel is a half block away in an unsecured lot with a broken parking entry arm. Walking there makes one very nervous - they should pay you to park there.
I responded that I did have a car but no one had said anything about a charge so she said that she would go ahead and charge it and then refund it to which I responded with, "You are kidding aren't you?"
She then offered to refund $20 of my $186 stay in exchange for my not being able to use my room.
You can bet I won't ever stay at this property again.
