Just spent a very enjoyable night in the Oldest Marriott Hotel in the World. Was upgraded to Room 400, up 4 flights of stairs but exceedingly comfortable. Great welcome gift, Prosecco and biscuits, excellent free status breakfast and a very good and reasonably priced dinner in the resteraunt.

Just inside the main reception door was this, what I assume is a wanted poster. Can anybody enlighten me as to what these 2 are wanted for in Derbyshire and could they be responsible for the fact that room 400 is haunted( a fact that I was only informed of on departure!)

In spite of the haunting and the 4  flights of stairs, I highly rate this very old, traditional hotel. It has 2 eighteen hope golf courses, a superb swimming pool and bags of history as well as possibly the Oldest and friendliest "bell boy" in  Marriott.
