I am a Marriott Platinum Lifetime member. I recently decided to give a Starwoods property a try and booked a Four Points hotel in Newburg, NY. This was my first Four Points (there aren't too many Starwoods properties where I travel). The front desk was less than helpful, they did not have my preferences on file, even though I checked in with the mobile app, nor did they have my cc on file. I asked to be upgraded and they put me in a jaccuzzi suite. I could care less about a big tub, but was looking for a couch and a coffee table, as I take my meals in my room. I called the on duty manager from the room that they gave me, explained what I was looking for and as I'm talking to him, I'm looking at the floor which was full of crumbs and bobbie pins. Not even clean. I couldn't get out of that hotel fast enough. Went to a SpringHill Suites about 25 minutes away and enjoyed my night. Marriott should have just stayed Marriott.
