Hi does anyone know if as a Titanium If will get access to the Griffin lounge in the JW Marriott in Cabo
The advance planning Triple TIPPLE 2020 task force (consisting brightlybob, bejacob, iahflyr, nationwide, pey, pluto77, painedplatinum, and seatexan) met at The Woodland Marriott Waterway north of Houston over the weekend to settle on the location of a city and dates for the much awaited, oft-debated Triple TIPPLE. We did consider all the Triple… Show more
After prodding from painedplatinum, this is the most comprehensive list I could come up with for my Marriott-branded stays since 1996! I’m a 100% leisure stayer (no business travel), plus Lifetime Titanium. It'll be a continual work-in-progress. I recently stayed at the Design Hotels brand, which was my 28th Marriott Bonvoy brand! This list… Show more
seatexan and I came up with the idea to start a thread of Hotel Carpet. This includes Lobby, Guest Room, and Hallways. Add photos below and indicate the location. Maybe we can have a competition on who can find the ugliest carpet .
Tell us what is behind your User name here on Insiders? Some are their names, others are first initial and last name while others are something that is part of their pas so what's your story? My user name is taken from the fact that I worked at Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) for 30 plus years and fly small airplanes (flyr) as well as… Show more
There’s a lot of complaints about SNAs not actually working yet we know they do. We already have a thread to big-up checkin suite upgrades at jasper100’s excellent monster 2,000-reply thread here, Where was your last Marriott stay and were you upgraded to a Suite??? and this thread isn’t to replace that legendarily popular post. Instead… Show more
So far, all the SNAs that I’ve put forth have been approved - and they were both in Calgary, Alberta (Canada). The first one was for 2 nights and we got a huge suite with wet bar and a large living room that’s separate from the king bedroom. Sorry, we weren’t able to take pictures as we were fighting colds during that time at the Marriott…
I'm sitting here at the airport reflecting on what was more or less an unremarkable stay. That said, here are my remarks: Overall, I'd say it is worth considering, but it won't blow you away by any stretch of the imagination. The hotel lobby is basically a huge Starbucks. Come to think of it, I think the room next to ours on the 27th floor… Show more
I am Lifetime Titanium and I will be spending more than 200 nights this year exclusively in Marriott properties. Why. I like my job and I love my lifetime benefits 75% bonus points, so 200 nights x $100/night x 10 points per dollar x 1.75 = 350,000 points minimum. 10 suite night upgrades 4 pm late checkouts guaranteed room upgrades …
Hi, Insiders! What do you think is a normal rate for on-site valet? $57.00/day at the Sheraton Grand in Seattle seems egregious, but I rarely rent a car. Does it matter that it is run by a third party?
Hey some1clever , If you have time maybe post your thoughts on the hotel, it's in the running to be the host hotel for the insider's gathering, Tripple Tipple, this September. A fresh set of eyes on it would be of interest to many here. There is a parking garage in the US Bank Center building next to the Sheraton and another in Convention…
Interesting article with some information about how the Bonvoy program works on the property owner group side. https://skift.com/2020/01/17/what-this-minor-vs-marriott-lawsuit-reveals-about-the-hotel-biz
Absolutely, Marriott has nothing to gain and everything to lose from a public trial and result. If it “wins” but has to disclose it ends up with its business partners far more knowledgeable about its contracts with others. If Marriott loses then it adds the possibility that the loss could encourage other owners/franchisees to seek freedom from…
I have a 25k certificate expiring next month and I always have always had a hard time using those as I mostly stay overseas where the rates are higher. I stayed a night at a Fairfield Inn last month while in the US hoping that it would use it, but it was apparently only 15k, so it just deducted the points instead of the cert. Now with the… Show more

Hi fellow insiders! Today I’m blogging live from the Renaissance Heathrow Lounge and just decided to post. I’ve reviewed this hotel and lounge several times now as one way or another my work keeps bringing me back to Heathrow - not to fly I hasten to add, every fool knows of you what to fly anywhere to avoid Heathrow! Actually that’s not… Show more
