Tell us what is behind your User name here on Insiders? Some are their names, others are first initial and last name while others are something that is part of their pas so what's your story?
My user name is taken from the fact that I worked at Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) for 30 plus years and fly small airplanes (flyr) as well as all commercial airline flights we fly on are into and out of IAH.

I am late to this party, but just recently joined, so here I go:
first two letters of my first name, first three letters of my middle name and the year I was born
Another boring one: first name, middle initial, year of birth.
Simple, Brian and Linda. Myself and she who must be obeyed. We always travel together as leisure travellers so our name on here reflects that. Linda very rarely posts because she is too busy with her Facebook friends. When she does you will know as she is far nastier than me!
We did have an earlier persona on here brianandlin( bottle of Bud and a bag of crisps) but when we were forced to use the Marriott sign in instead of my SPG one, Insiders made me open a new account!
I needed a user name for Trip Advisor. People knew I like to travel and my mantra was that I have "Places to see go", hence my user name for Trip Advisor and Marriott Insiders. Rarely use Trip Advisor as most of my postings are on the Insiders platform.
Well, okay. My name has transformed over the years. I used to tie my username to my Marriott status. It started as GoldenBoy because I never really thought I’d make better than (Old program) Lifetime Gold. Then PlatinumBoy, then PlatinumBoyForever (after hitting Lifetime Platinum), then PlatPboy4ever....whew...it kept mutating because Marriott kept changing the name of the top tier. So I finally disconnected my username from my Marriott status,
My current name stems from my good luck getting suite upgrades, or just paying for them if they’re reasonable, since I always travel with my spouse & we like spreading out. (Plus I’m very sweet )
Late to the show but here goes. Back in the days of AOL everyone had cute monikers. My sister got her AOL name as MizMoMcD and I simply followed her lead with MsAnnMcD. The credit goes to Maureen (who currently works for Hilton!).

The name "betterdays" comes from the time when a particular MMORPG (does anyone here even know what that is?) had breathed new life into online gaming. In particular, Better Days was the name of my alter ego on City of Heroes (one of many, that is).
When asked to define a username, I thought it was about as good as any in that it reflected a sense of optimism which I try to embrace. And not to go all fanboy or anything, but the Marriott loyalty program has been good to me - hence making for better days.
So there you have it.

My username is pretty self-explanatory (and somewhat embarrassingly uncreative, reading other explanations here :-)). I came from 9 years of SPG plat, and 1 year of marriott plat to get my lifetime titanium and although so far I’m mostly happy with bonvoy, I dont want to forget SPG, as that’s where the bulk of my fun memories / adventures were experienced. SPG has been the best reward program I have ever been part of, but bonvoy is constantly improving and getting there.

Pretty sure my name explains it all ... I, and my wife, are pretty diehard NASCAR fans. It's something we both enjoy, can have conversation about - as well as a friendly rivalry :-)
We call Pocono Raceway, in PA, our home track - it's about 2 hours from our house. We attend 2 NASCAR races there a year, along with the IndyCar race weekend - which we are leaving for tomorrow.
For the past few years we've been going to 1 new track on the circuit each year. Due to all the travel I did last year, and the 1st part of this year, we have upped it to 2 new tracks this year. We spent 12 days in Charlotte, NC for the AllStar/Coke 600 weekend, and are going to ISM raceway in Phoenix, AZ for the 1st time this year - going out for the 2nd to last race of the season.
Next year, the Bristol night race in Bristol, TN and maybe the throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway.
Both our drivers are in the championship hunt again this year. I'm pulling for Kevin Harvick #4TheChampionship

Heck yeah ... we would have done it this or last year, but as I said Pocono Raceway is our home track, and I'm a bit of a fanatic - I got selected to be on the Pocono Raceway Fan Council 2 years ago. There are 29 of us hardcore fans that are a bridge between the racetrack fans and racetrack leadership. We donate a few hours of our time on race weekends to interact with the fans, get fan feedback (good and bad) and bring that to track leadership to effect positive change. A lot of great things have come from the Fan Council - in exchange for our weekend hours, we get some inside access, an all access weekend pass and get to do some really cool things.
Last year we, along with some fans, got to wave the green and checkered flags for Truck Series Qualifying, from the flagstand. It's single truck qualifying so we each got to wave the flags for a different driver. That was so much fun, but it ain't as easy as it looks on TV. When you see someone awkwardly waving the green flag at the start of the race, it's because it takes practice to get it flowing and looking right. I know as I practiced in the RV, with my wife getting a laugh as my expense -- all in good fun.
The Bristol Night race, for the last 2 years, has fallen on the same race weekend as the IndyCar weekend at Pocono - so that's where we've spent our last couple Thunder Valley nights.

My parents had a summer home in the Blowing Rock, NC., area and for some 20 years we visited them about two or three times during the summer. Bristol is about a 30 minute drive from where the house was and NEVER did out trips to see them happen during the summer race. Oh well, one day!

My user name is 30Marine, the story behind that is: I was in the Marine Corps for 30 years, 1969 – 1999; I retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant which would have been to long of a user name.
