I recently heard the news that by the end of 2019, all Marriott properties will be doing away with the little individual toiletries in the bathrooms -- please say it isn't so!! They are going to the pump bottles that will be in the shower walls. That sounds disgusting to me. I know the Residence Inn Dulles Rt. 28 North (yes, that's the name) does that now and I don't like it. Plus, I like to take those little treasures home!! Marriott going on the cheap again. Not happy.
It's not just Courtyards - they have it at the Residence Inn Dulles Airport Rt 28 Dulles Center. It's awful. And creepy.

I've yet to see it in two RIs, 2 FIs and several FS properties. I have no idea if these rumors have any basis in reality but if anyone knows anything substantive please joint this thread. I would consider it a serious reduction in value of any hotel that did it.
I have been hearing rumors that the whole industry will go this way ever since I first encountered these dispencers, back in 1980. /that hotel has gone back to little bottles.
We stayed at the new SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orlando Lake Buena Vista/Palm Parkway last month. Beautiful brand new hotel and they had the pump bottles for shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers.
I stayed at a Courtyard in Goodlettsville, TN last weekend, and they had the pumps on the wall. And guess what? The conditioner was empty! It was so aggravating to be in the shower and having washed my hair to find I couldn't use conditioner. How many opportunities were there to check to see if it was getting low, but no one filled it? Not a fan!
Can't say it holds any terrors for me, quite like the idea actually. Got to be more environmentally friendly as well as economical. Only seen it in Moxys so far.
On a similar note stayed at a Marriott recently which had switched from bottled water to chilled water dispenser in Executive Lounge.
Towne Place Suites in West Dundee/Elgin IL has pump dispensers, as does the Res Inn in Redmond, WA
Just came back from trip. Two Ren properties and one Marriott: All mini bottles! In August/Sept, 1 RI, 3 Marriott hotels: All mini bottles!

However, it's a rumor and only involves courtyards. There are mixed feelings about it as well. If it spreads to other brands, it would be news to me though.
