Anyone stay at Ritz Carlton Cancun? Suggestion for things locally to the hotel don't want to waste time driving around. water activities, Snorkeling, etc. besides just relaxing by the pool.
Thank you and happy travels,
I stayed at the Marriott resort just down the road from ritz. You wont get any breakfast or any benefits other than an upgrade at the RC. The resort only has valet parking at $20 per night - but you can manage without a car. Ask the FD to call a taxi and the rates are pretty much fixed to locations. Definitely check out Mercado 28 - a local market where you wont pay for jacked up tourist prices.
Book a tour to the Chichen Itza with one of the tour companies - dont buy anything where they stop mid way - its a complete rip off. Buy onsite at the Chichen Itza where you will get more reasonable prices.
We just went into the ocean every morning for light dips - so cant comment on the water activities.
Enjoy Cancun - its an amazing place.
vaboywnder - recently stayed there. He had a nice experience - he stayed at the club level though where usually service is outstanding.
Thanks for the info. I've been to all three Mexican sites, Chichen Itza,Teotihuacan and Tulum but my wife hasn't. She's only been to Tulum which was awesome and my first time there. Yes, visiting Tulum we only bought on site as well and the tour guide explained that and never had the drive stop anywhere besides Tulum.
Happy travels! :-)
Here is a link to my hotel review from last November: Hotel Review: The Ritz-Carlton Cancun
The Club Level was awesome. We were there for only two nights so most of our time was at the beach. We did enjoy two great restaurants in Cancun, Harry's Prime Steakhouse and Trattoria Limoncello.
