Gotta love minor league baseball.

My son and I enjoyed a(nother) great night at Harrisburg, PA's Metro Bank Park on City Island, where the Harrisburg Senators (affiliate to our Washington Nationals) hosted Erie on Star Wars Night.  Compared to big city MLB baseball (which, to be clear, we love), everything is less expensive, crowded, and, frankly, commercialized....  Terrific tickets for $15, parking was easy (in and out), my son got a game ball (and had it signed afterwards), there were characters in Star Wars costume before/during the game, the Senators wore the coolest Star Wars baseball shirts ever (see below), the stadium offers excellent concessions (including mouth-watering local ears of corn), and there were robust fireworks after the game!

We've stayed in a number of the Marriott properties in the area - for Harrisburg Senators games, for Hershey Bears (affiliate to the Washington Capitals) hockey games, and other reasons to visit (or pass through) Pennsylvania's capital.  It's a bargain most of the year, but rooms can get pricey during the summer tourist season.

p.s. if this amuses you, there are some pics from a Potomac Nationals game here: Minor League Baseball - Potomac (and Washington) Nats
