Next on our trip was Barcelona. We had visited the city before but didn't get to see everything that we had wanted.

We stayed at the AC Hotel Victoria suites. The rooms were spacious, there was also a balcony area. The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the Maria Cristina metro station. We bought the T10 metro ticket Euro 10.30 for 10 journeys. Integrated Fare System - Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona

The hotel breakfast was also good. There is a pool but unfortunately it was a little too cold for swimming.

Overall we enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again. It may not be the best choice for a first time visitor if you want to be more central. But with the metro close by it was fine for us.

I had booked some attraction tickets in advance.

First up was Sagrada Familia Visit Sagrada Família

you need to decide if you want to visit with a tour guide or with an audio guide. we chose the audio guide option and tower of the nativity facade.

there are no additional charges for booking on line. our tickets were booked for 9.30am and there was an enormous queue even at that time for the visitors that didn't book in advance. If you have booked in advance you enter on the other side of the building. Do yourself a favour and book in advance, don't waste time in a huge queue it is a very popular attraction and rightly so.

We also bought the Barcelona Art Ticket in advance: ArTicket :: The best art in one ticket

It was slightly cheaper on this site: Articket Barcelona - 6 museus de Barcelona en una sola entrada - Barcelona Turisme

If you go to 3 or more of the 6 museums then it is worth getting.

The Picasso museum is also very busy. With the art pass there is a special window to go to and you are straight in.

Unfortunately no photography inside. the museum is very good and has plenty of his earlier paintings.

We revisited the Miro museum which is very good. Home - Fundació Joan Miró

Unfortunately the Tapies museum was closed whilst we were there. Fundació Antoni Tàpies

Magic Fountain also provided a great way to finish the day: MAGIC FOUNTAIN

We visited most of Gaudi's sites on our last visit.Casa Batlló | Antoni Gaudí Modernist Museum in Barcelona

I thought this restaurant Betlem was excellent value at lunch for the quality of the food.
