I created a comparison chart of the Ritz-Carlton Visa to the New SPG Luxury Amex coming in August.
Nice! Appreciate this.
I'll likely still grab the spg luxury card when it comes out for what will hopefully be a nice sign up bonus. Plus who doesn't need a 5th global entry credit .
I love this! thanks the comparison chart!
jsucool76 why you getting the spg luxury card since you already have the Ritz card?
The free night combined with the $300 credit the card basically pays for itself. I'll keep it for at least one year for sign up bonus (provided Amex doesn't screw existing cardholders out of it) and then see where I go from there .
I just updated the chart. It now has been confirmed that the Ritz Card will also grant 15 Elite Night Credits each year. There also has been a change to the Roadside Assistance benefit. Previously you had to be 50 miles away from home. New terms states you have to be "traveling away from home"
Update: The Ritz Credit Card is no longer available to new applicants.
I'm so thankful I have my card. It's travel benefits outweigh any of the other cards on the market.
Here’s a working link, anyone interested should hurry before chase pulls it
Nice .haha .figured this would happen but not so soon .the press release did say chase would handle the premium cards and Amex the super premium high af cards .I'd expect the spg personal/biz apps to get pulled next .
I have a feeling that Chase will open this card back up to new applicants once they figure out an appropriate sign up bonus. Obviously they didn't want to kill this card as they just added additional benefits to it. The signup offer had been two free night certificates at Tier 1-4 Ritz properties which no longer makes sense with the program merger coming in about 3 weeks. If Chase does offer the card again for new applicants it will be interesting to see what the new signup offer will be and how it compares to the SPG Luxury Card signup offer.
