Ever wondered how to view your Marriott Rewards stays and earned points and certificates?  Your rewards summary is right in your Account Activity page.

Here’s how to find it:

  1. To open the “My Account” page, first log into your Marriott Rewards account and click My Account Overview.
  2. Using the tabs at the top of the page, click on Account Activity to view your points, transactions and certificates.
  3. In the Summary section, the Nights Earned box will breakdown your total nights earned this year and the total membership nights.  On the right side, you'll find the total number of nights needed to achieve the next rewards level, in addition to the total nights needed to renew your current level.
  4. The Transactions section displays your transactions by month or by specific dates for the past 13 months. More information on this section can be found in the View your hotel bills on My Account blog posting. You can also access the Missing Stay Request Form for stays that are not appearing in your account.

Hello Insiders

Did you know that you can earn airline miles instead of reward points?  All you have to do is update your earning preferences within your Marriott Rewards profile.

Here’s how:

1.    Using the My Account box, log into your Marriott Rewards account and click Profile to open the Member Profile page.

2.    On the Member Profile page, click on Earning Preferences under the Profile section.

1.png

3.    Your current earning preference will appear. Click on Edit earning preferences.

4.    Select Miles/other program. Choose your airline program and enter your frequent flyer or other program number. Click Save.

2.png

5.    The changes will automatically appear in your profile.

3.png

You can switch between earning points and miles as often as you like, but you can only earn either points or miles for the same stay. Any changes to your earning preferences will be applied to your next stay. Previous earnings will not be converted to your new settings.  You can also redeem points for miles through our Travel Rewards program.

If you have other questions about your earning preferences, please contact Marriott Rewards Customer Support at 1-801-468-4000.

Cheers,

Kristine

Hello Insiders

Did you know that you can search for Marriott hotels near a specific address?

Well, here are step-by-step instructions:

1. Using the hotel search box on the homepage or any other page on Marriott.com, click Advanced Search.

1.jpg
2. On the Marriott Hotel Search page, click the Near an Address tab.

2.png

3. Enter the address of where you would like to find nearby properties and enter your check-in and check-out dates, and your Marriott Rewards number. If you want to use Rewards points, check Use Rewards Points. Click Find.

3.png

4. If applicable, select a special rate, awards number or type and any hotel brands you want to include in your search.

4.png

5. Your search results will appear with the distance from the address you had entered.

2.jpg

6. If there are no hotels within 50 miles of your address, you will receive the following message.

6.png

7. You can access the hotel directory for a complete listing of all Marriott Properties. The message will provide a link to the hotel directory for alternate locations. You can also access the hotel directory on any Marriott.com page under Explore & Plan from the top navigation.

7.png

8. On the bottom of the hotel directory, you will see a listing of hotels by interest.

8.png

So, there you have it. By entering just a little information, you can easily find a property near an address and access Marriott’s complete hotel directory. And, to help you search for hotels on your travel route, the “along a route” feature will be returning to Marriott.com in the near future.

Finding hotel categories

Posted by kristines Sep 19, 2012

Hello Insiders

Ever have trouble finding hotel categories so you’ll know how many points are needed to redeem for a stay?
The good news is that there are a few ways to locate this information.

If you’re searching for a hotel on Marriott.com, follow these simple steps:

  1. Check the “Use Rewards Points” box.
    3.jpg
  2. The hotel category is listed under each Marriott property listing.
    2.jpg

If you want to see a listing of hotels by categories, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Marriott.com and log into your Marriott Rewards account.
    3.png
  2. Select Use Marriott Rewards Points.
    4.png
  3. Scroll down to the Hotels section and click on the categories and tiers link.
    5.png
  4. A separate window will open showing two tabs – Hotel Rewards Categories and Hotel Rewards Tiers.
In the upper right corner of the window, you’ll see a dropdown menu with options to view hotels in a specific category or tier.
    6.png
*Note: you can access this window by clicking on the category listed under each hotel in the search results.
    1.jpg
  5. Select the hotel category or tier and click Find to view hotels by country, state and/or city.
    8.png

You can also find the hotel categories on hotel websites by following the steps below:

  1. On the hotel website, click on Marriott Rewards Points in the upper right corner.
    9.png
  2. This page will show you the category of the hotel and the Marriott Rewards points required for free nights.

Now that you know how to find hotel categories, next week’s blog topic will be on redeeming certificates.
Until next time…

Hello Insiders

Did you know that you can now view your past stay hotel bills online in My Account?

  5. The transaction activity will appear by the date the hotel stay was posted.  The defaulted Transaction Type is set to “All Types”.
    5.png
  6. Select the transaction type by using the dropdown menu.  Definitions of each transaction type are listed within the Type column, including hotel stays, bonus, rewards, events and transfers.
    6a.png6b.png
  7. Click on the “+” sign next to the date of the hotel stay to expand the listing.
    7.png
  8. Under the Description column, select “View Hotel Bill” from the menu to open a PDF version of your statement.

    9.png

Also, did you know that you can request to have your hotel folio emailed to you every time you stay at a participating Marriott hotel?  All you have to do is subscribe to eFolio in your Marriott Rewards account. Follow the steps below to receive electronic versions of your hotel bill 72 hours following checkout.

Subscribe to eFolio:

  1. Log into your Marriott Rewards account.
  2. Go to “My Account Overview” and click on Member Profile.
  3. On right side of the page under “Profile”, click to expand the “Email and Postal Preferences”.
  4. Click on Edit email preferences.
  5. Scroll down to "Information About Your Stay".
  6. Select the radio button below “Subscribe”.
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save to save your preferences.

Please note that the eFolio will reflect changes to your bill up until 11pm on the departure day. Any adjustments made after this time may not appear on your bill.

If your Marriott Rewards number is applied to another person’s room reservation, you will receive that person’s eFolio.  You will be responsible for notifying the person that his/her bill will be emailed to you.  Arrangements can be made with the front desk personnel during the stay to have the eFolio emailed to a different email address.

You only need to sign-up once to receive your bill by email after every stay.

We want to make sure every experience with us is rewarding, so if you need more help with your hotel bill, please submit a “Folio/Bill Request” in Contact Us in the Help section.

Attention Marriott App users -

We’ve identified a potential issue for Rewards members who cancel a Cash + Points reservation via the Marriott App but we are working on a solution – we’ll keep you posted.

Current issue: If you cancel a Cash + Points reservation via the Marriott app your points are not automatically returned to your account.

Temporary workaround: Until we have the fix for the Marriott App in place, please cancel a Cash + Points reservation on Marriott.com or call Customer Care.

Thanks for your understanding and we’ll keep you updated.
